2026 Benchmark Study  ·  Open & Anonymous

The 2026 Website Behavior Report

Most teams can see what happened on their website. Far fewer can see why. We asked the people who own and optimize websites — in ecommerce, B2B, and agencies — which tools they know, which they'd actually shortlist, which they use, and where they go to find them.

Open report — no email wall. Findings published in aggregate.

02 / METHODOLOGY

About the study

Audience
Marketers, ecommerce leads, growth and CRO teams — the people accountable for what a website does.
Organizations
Ecommerce, B2B and agency teams, weighted toward small and mid-market companies rather than enterprise.
Design
Category study. We ask about the whole category rather than any one product, and every vendor list is randomized so no brand gets an advantage from where it sits on the page.
Reporting
Aggregate only. Individual responses are confidential and reported solely as anonymized totals.
// Open

A category benchmark from 42 Research, free and open to all. We ask people to name tools from memory before we show them any list, so the answers reflect what teams actually carry around rather than what a list reminds them of. No respondent is identifiable in any published output. Fielded 2026.

03 / Participate

Tell us how your team reads its website.

The survey takes about three minutes. Participation is anonymous, and the resulting report is open to everyone.
